Shelby and Sam’s California elopement in Sea Ranch, California was truly a special and unforgettable day. As a wedding photographer, it was an honor to be a part of their intimate celebration and capture their love story! While many couples dream of a big wedding with lots of guests, Shelby and Sam decided that they wanted to keep things simple and celebrate just between the two of them. They chose to get married at the Mendocino coast, a place that held special meaning for them as a couple, and where Sam proposed.
Despite facing unexpected challenges due to a major rainstorm, we were determined to make it to their wedding day. We worked together to navigate the blocked and flooded roads, and ultimately made it to the breathtaking location where they exchanged their vows! The ceremony took place on the lawn in the backyard on the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The cloudy morning turned into a beautiful sunny day, and the sunset was simply stunning. Shelby and Sam exchanged their personal vows and rings, and it was a touching moment that left no dry eyes.
After the ceremony, we took a stroll around the Sea Ranch resort, capturing some truly beautiful moments. The couple celebrated with a bottle of champagne on the cliff, and later went back to their Airbnb rental to make each other their favorite surf and turf dinner. It was the perfect romantic ending to a perfect day.
As a wedding photographer, it’s always an honor to capture special moments like these. Shelby and Sam’s elopement was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most important thing on your wedding day is to be present with each other, and not worry about anyone else.
