Lands End Trail and Marin Headlands
One very special day, we set out with Jennifer and Ron to capture the magic of a coming new life. As is typical for San Francisco, the weather was unpredictable, but as the fog gently rolled in over Lands End, it created an absolutely beautiful and romantic scene for these pictures. Etherial and soft, we had a wonderful day capturing these precious moments that Jennifer and Ron will cherish for years to come.
After the foggy and atmospheric Lands End maternity photos, we decided to take a drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to the Marin Headlands. We wanted to capture the stunning coastline and try to find a little bit of sunshine. The results were spectacular, as the gentle light glowed over the expectant parents and created just the type of feeling we were looking for.
When to take maternity photos? The best time to take maternity photos is 28-30 weeks, when your belly is very round, but you are not too big to move around freely. Jennifer was perfectly in this window, as you can see with her beautiful glowing silhouette.
What to wear for maternity photos? The answer to this is to wear what makes you feel comfortable and beautiful! You can bring a few outfit options to choose from on the day of the session. Long and flowing dresses like this one create dramatic, romantic pictures that communicate beauty and emotions. Flowing skirts combined with some wind and billowing fog can capture the magic and emotion of pregnancy. Cute, chic outfits like Jennifer’s adorable striped dress and jean jacket show off her personality. I suggest you pick things that make you feel beautiful, feel like yourself, and feel comfortable. Think about what you want the theme for your photo session to be and what you would like to communicate through the pictures, and plan your outfits around that.
